Although well known for his drag bike racing and tuning Colin is equally at home fixing scooters and commuter bikes. He’s a very resourceful mechanic who’ll clearly explain the options available to his customers without using too much biker talk. Although he is quite happy to switch to biker talk if required.
LCR motorcycles moved to the AllBike Engineering (ABE) building in Peterboat Close SE10 in the summer of 2009. The Peterboat Close ABE building houses LCR motorcycles and a number of other specialist bike mechanics including Tri-moto the Triumph specialist. The ABE manufacturing factory is also based in Peterboat Close. A true small British manufacturer, ABE make motorcycle parts and spares; mainly suspension and brake parts such as forks and disks.
The workshop is just that, a real workshop. It’s not highly polished and situated on an expensive road. This keeps everyone’s overheads down and that keeps you the customer’s costs down. We don’t have to charge £70 an hour like our competitors who do have polished showrooms and high street locations. The low overheads and friendly atmosphere helps us to look after our customers; that’s why they keep coming back.
You can come in to the workshop, see your bike being repaired and talk to our mechanics about it. In fact we encourage you to come and see your bike up on the bench, we believe it’s important that you see what we do.
You won’t need to book your bike in three weeks in advance either and now we have our new MOT centre installed we are a true one stop shop for all you motorcycle and scooter servicing needs.
Despite the tough financial climate in October 2011 LCR opened a Motorbike and Scooter MOT centre in Peterboat Close, SE10. As Colin Carter points out
“small local business like ours need to invest if they can, we’ve spent a lot of money installing the MOT centre, but we don’t have the overheads that the big companies have so we can pass that saving on to our customers, I know we offer a great service here and we can save people money”
